The 2nd Family Nursing Study Group of the University of Tokyo in FY2022 was held.
We invited Dr. Atsushi Haruta of the Center for Medical Education at Keio University as a lecturer and held a workshop on “Methods and Practices of Program Evaluation Using the Realist Approach. For the first time, the seminar was held in a joint seminar format with the Department of Gerontological Nursing at Keio University, and six participants from Keio University attended. Lively discussions ensued. In addition, two students presented their own research plans and received feedback from Dr. Haruta and other members of both laboratories, providing a valuable opportunity to organize their thoughts.

The 1st Todai Family Nursing Study Group 2022 was co-hosted with the Global Nursing Research Center.
The course was taught directly by Dr. Denise Saint Arnalult and Dr. Laura Sinko, leading experts in CENI and PEARL, new methodologies for visualizing people’s thoughts and experiences using pictures and photographs. The three-day workshop was attended by 45 participants, who learned everything from theoretical backgrounds to clinical and research applications through lectures, demonstrations, and group work. On the last day, each participant gave a presentation on how he or she would like to apply the method to his or her own research, making it a very active learning experience. Using this method will require training, and we areconsidering providing this training in our field in the future. Please contact us if you are interested in attending the training.
